Ultra Music Festival’s milestone 25th anniversary turned Miami’s Bayfront Park into an electrifying paradise from March 28–30, delivering a historic weekend that honored its past while cementing its status as the world’s premier electronic music festival. With a sold-out crowd of 165,000 attendees from over 100 countries and a massive global audience tuning into the #ULTRALIVE stream, this year’s edition shattered expectations.

A Weekend of Unforgettable Performances & Surprises

Friday: A Monumental Start to Ultra 2025

Afrojack made history during his high-energy Main Stage set, bringing out David Guetta and Sia for the first-ever live performance of their global smash hit, “Titanium.” The surprises didn’t stop there—Sia’s festival debut continued as she and Guetta closed with their latest collaboration, “Beautiful People.”

John Summit and Dom Dolla’s Everything Always project shook the Main Stage, while Subtronics delivered a bass-fueled daylight spectacle. Dance music icons Tiësto and Alesso indulged fans with nostalgic anthems and unexpected moments—Tiësto premiering a new track with Odd Mob, and Alesso welcoming Nadia Ali for a stunning guest appearance.

On the RESISTANCE Megastructure, techno luminary Charlotte de Witte closed the night after jaw-dropping sets from Boris Brejcha, ARTBAT, and Miss Monique. Meanwhile, Eli Brown’s two-hour house and techno masterclass at RESISTANCE Cove left fans mesmerized.

The Worldwide Stage saw Armin van Buuren headline twice, delivering a solo set before an epic back-to-back-to-back (b3b) with Maddix and Oliver Heldens. Over at the Live Stage, Zeds Dead debuted their ‘Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness’ show, following Pendulum’s first Ultra performance since 2022.

The UMF Radio Stage also had a defining moment as Partiboi69’s extraterrestrial ‘Area 69’ takeover featured festival-first performances from Ketboi69 (Partiboi69 x KETTAMA), Partiboi69 b2b Juicy Romance, and Skream b2b Interplanetary Criminal.

Saturday: Unprecedented Firsts & Mind-Blowing Collabs

Skrillex made a triumphant Main Stage return—his first solo Ultra set since 2015—bringing out Flowdan, Damian Marley, Young Miko, and Naisha for a thrilling showcase of his genre-blurring versatility. The night also saw Hardwell close with an ID-packed performance, while Anyma b2b Solomun’s world debut set became an instant classic. Axwell’s first solo set since 2019 teased potential Swedish House Mafia releases, while Armin van Buuren stunned fans with a remix of 50 Cent’s “In Da Club.”

Over on RESISTANCE, Carl Cox’s first-ever ‘Carl Cox Invites’ stage takeover featured Richie Hawtin’s groundbreaking ‘DEX EFX X0X’ show, plus powerhouse sets from Adam Beyer and Cox himself, debuting his new ‘Evolution’ live show.

Saturday’s other standout moments included the first-ever deadmau5 b2b Pendulum set, Gesaffelstein’s dramatic performance, and KSHMR’s ‘The Live Experience.’ UMF Radio Stage introduced Ultra’s first psytrance stage takeover, in collaboration with Vini Vici’s Alteza label.

Sunday: A Grand Finale for the Ages

The festival’s final day delivered unforgettable moments, with Martin Garrix headlining Ultra’s Sunday closing set for the first time ever. His performance featured Armin van Buuren premiering a new collaboration before Garrix made history as the first artist to close out Ultra with live vocals.

Sunday’s Main Stage also hosted massive sets from Zedd, Gryffin, and a surprise performance from Kaskade. Steve Aoki packed his show with guest appearances, bringing out Trippie Redd, Swae Lee, Mike Posner, Marnik, and Jessica Baio.

RESISTANCE Megastructure hosted Solomun’s debut Diynamic stage takeover, culminating in a massive b4b with Mau P, Four Tet, and Chloé Caillet. Over at RESISTANCE Cove, hard techno reigned supreme with headline sets from I Hate Models, 999999999, and Nico Moreno.

Meanwhile, deadmau5’s ‘Retrospective’ set at Worldwide Stage saw him join forces with fellow Canadian innovator Steve Duda (Serum creator). The stage also hosted the world premiere of NGHTMRE b2b Sullivan King. The Live Stage wrapped up with Above & Beyond’s first exclusive performance since 2018 and the Ultra debut of LSZEE (LSDREAM x CloZee).

On UMF Radio, Dirty Workz returned for its fourth consecutive year, featuring Sub Zero Project, Coone, Brennan Heart, Da Tweekaz, and Rooler, proving Ultra’s influence in the hardstyle scene.

Ultra’s Commitment to Sustainability

Continuing its eco-conscious mission, Ultra’s award-winning Mission: Home program expanded to 60 sustainability initiatives, focusing on pollution prevention, nature preservation, and climate action. Key efforts included:

  • Mission: Home Artist Alliance, empowering artists to promote sustainability.
  • Two additional stages powered by grid electricity, reducing generator reliance.
  • Nature-based glass recycling, transforming waste into coastal restoration materials.
  • A fifth consecutive year partnering with Clean Vibes to achieve 100% recycling acceptance.

What’s Next: Ultra RESISTANCE Ibiza 2025

Following another sold-out Miami Music Week residency at M2 Nightclub, RESISTANCE is set to return to Ibiza for a nine-week residency at Amnesia Nightclub (July 23 – Sept 17, 2025). Featuring season residents Adam Beyer and ARTBAT, the lineup includes Anfisa Letyago, ANNA, Argy, Chris Avantgarde, Eli Brown, Gordo, HI-LO, Ilario Alicante, Innellea, Joris Voorn, Kölsch, Korolova, Maceo Plex, Marco Faraone, Massano, Mathame, Mau P, Mind Against, Nicole Moudaber, Richie Hawtin, Sasha & John Digweed, Stephan Bodzin (live), and Vintage Culture.

Ultra Music Festival 2025 was more than a celebration—it was a declaration of electronic music’s future. The 25th anniversary cemented Ultra’s role as the global stage where dance music history is written.
